Nick :: Lucas

I LOVE my job.

It is seriously that great. I don't think I've ever had a job with so many perks. I have no set hours, I get to goof around with kids (haha and adults!), I edit and manipulate photos to my hearts content, and can be as creative or spontaneous as I want. It really is the perfect job for me.

Nick and Lucas rock my socks off. They were full of energy, just like every other child I have encountered so far! I love it! They had silly smiles and we even got some 'Spidey' moments. Another perk: getting to check out different decorating styles. Honestly, how stellar is this brick wall? It's right in their kitchen, the whole house was beautiful, it felt like I stepped into an interior design photo op!

Can't wait to do a family shoot later this summer!!!

Allie :: Autumn

I lOVE Allie's beautiful long hair! These two were full of energy and funny faces--which is perfect for me. ☺

My favorite images of any kid are the ones with the smirky grin, the messy hair, the silly face or the imperfect smile. The best photo my mother ever took of my brother and me was when we were covered in mud...I'll have to see if I can round that one up and post it sometime, it's hilarious...

Per usual, these are just a few of the favs!

Family weekends are the best for many reasons. First and for most, my family (immediate, extended and otherwise) seriously knows how to relax and have a good time. Second, we all love to eat so good food and drink are basically a given. Third, I love my family (a luxury that some don't have, sad!). And last, it gives me time to chill and get back to basics.

As an added treat, my cousin Amy and her son Brock were able to join us-super fun! We treked up and down the North Shore from the Split Rock Lighthouse to Gooseberry Falls to downtown Duluth to rest stops along Lake Superior. We hung out at the aquarium, ate at Grandma's and lounged at the place we rented for the weekend.

It was perfection.

Ok, well, maybe it was a bit dark the day after we arrived, but Lake Superior is still beautiful...

These mud puppies are so weird. They have fins, gills, and legs, it's crazy. Brock thought so, too.

But the potbellied seahorses were my favorite...fat little tummies...

A little self portrait...haha...get it?

Hawaii 5-0

Yep, I think I finally got it--BIG IMAGES!!! Woo hoo!!

I was able to spend a relaxing and beautiful 10 days with family (who just also happen to be my friends!) in Hawaii. Here's some from Pearl Harbor, lava tubes, ocean and pool fronts. Oh, to be back in warm weather again... :-)

I'm trying...

Alright. I was super pumped because after about an hour of trying, I thought I had finally figured out how to post larger images on this site. I tried uploading from Flickr, that didn't work. I tried re-writing in HTML, that also let me down. As you can see, I was able to widen the inner and outer wrappers of this site in preparation for the birth of bouncing, joyful 20 lb. images (as opposed to these 8 lb. baby wanna be's)... I am now frustrated and tired and I think I'm getting kicked out of this coffeehouse. I have been here for nearly three hours...

Anywho, I will try SUPER HARD this week to catch up on my postings, but only AFTER I figure out how to get these images bigger. These teeny, weeny 'large' image posts are so NOT cutting the pickle for me. It's like the antithesis of 'the bees knees', if you catch my drift. Side note: I have never used that word before and am now somewhat pleased that I was able to use it in a complete sentence.

Good grief.

Stay tuned for MANY more images as I am so far behind and intend to play lots and lots of catch up in the next few weeks.

Thanks!!!
